Mac Cosmetics

Do you use a lot of Mac Cosmetics? If the answer is yes, then how would you like a free lipstick?
Can't say no to a free lipstick can you! Well I found out recently that Mac have a recycling scheme. They do that little bit extra.
So all you have to do to receive it is keep 6 of you empty containers. I handed in three foundation bottles, a primer bottle and two powder tubs and I got to choose a lipstick but not a viva glam as they are for charity. It's great isn't it!! So depending on how much you go through every 6 to 12 months your getting a free lipstick just for shopping with them and returning containers.
If you are unsure of what containers you can return you can google it and there is a drop down box on the American site that has options of what you can return.

I got matte 'Diva' as my choice of lipstick.
One thing is when you get your free lipstick you can't keep the box and you can't return it so make sure your 100% sure that's the shade you want. If your not sure just ask and they can help you decide that's what I did. I couldn't decide between a nude pink or a deep red. And this is what I left with. It is a beautiful shade and I can't wait to wear it! Even though my friend snagged a use of it before me.

Hope this has helped all you Mac Cosmetics fans. I know I was relieved when I found out! Now get saving!

Chow for now.

Lime Crime

Hi all you lovely people.
This blog post is about my recent purchase from Lime Crime. I'd be lying if I didn't say that the girls who wear their make up are slaying it. They are stunning. It is a very individual, bright and unique brand. They recently had this valentines deal which was awesome a deal buying both Venus eye shadow palettes. It was £32 and £7.99 delivery which is awesome if you decide to buy other products. The packaging it beautiful as well.
I got the Venus 1 palette and my friend got the Venus 2. The Venus 1 is great for me because I'm pale and a red head. It's got soft Browns and reds which highlight my skin tone and emphasis my hair.
This is a picture of me wearing Venus and Muse. I would lying if I didn't said there isn't an Instagram filter on this photo. Want my hair back to this colour when I first dyed it. I would definitely recommend any of their products. I have bought a lipstick which is beautiful, it is pink with a sparkly uniform on it.

My friend recently got the Salem velvetine and she looks smoking if I do say so.
Look at her slay it. I am dying to get one wish I ordered it when I ordered the eye shadow. Luckily eBay sells them as well so I shall purchase one from there when I finally decide a shade there is so many to choose from for many occasions.

Cultural Appropriation

I have personally taken part in Cultural appropriation. Have you?
From wearing Henna on my hands to tight braids in my hair. My friends have also taken part in Cultural appropriation, from getting symbols in other languages tattooed on themselves to wearing a bindi to festival. We all think it's just a fashion trend and move on, but it's not it's a part of someone's culture, they have been brought up with.

I can never decide if it is right or wrong.

I love finding out other peoples views on the subject. I have asked people from different ethnic background what their views are it is surprising what other people think. Some people think that is completely expectable within reason, for example a tattoo of a Buddha may be offensive to Buddhists. I had never thought about any of this before doing this project. We completely take it all for granted.

When wearing a garment that is on trend we need to think where did this concept come from, does it have history, is it disrespectful to wear it? From speaking to people from different culture backgrounds they do believe that it is nice to have people getting involved in other peoples cultures and wanting to learn more about them. It just depends how far they take it and if they are respectable, it would not be right to dress as a Muslim if you are not supporting the religion. It is so open and everyone has a different opinion that is why it is so difficult to find the line that people cross to make it offensive.

We all idolise celebrities from the likes of Kylie Jenner to Rita Ora who have both taken part in cultural appropriation and not batted an eye lid. I may be defensive when writing this blog post but I have learnt a lot and will take into consideration what I wear before I wear it.

The big question is where do you draw the line??

I could go on forever about what I think is right and what I think is wrong and then contradict myself a few weeks later.
